- Res. 1995 de 1999Ministry of Health. Sets the rules for completing, safeguarding and keeping the clinical record: chronological entries, the clinician's signature and confidentiality.
- Ley 1090 de 2006Regulates the practice of psychology and its code of ethics: professional secrecy, informed consent and the patient's clinical record.
- Ley 1581 de 2012Colombia's personal data protection law (habeas data). Health data is sensitive data and requires authorisation and security measures.
- Res. 839 de 2017Updates how long the clinical record is kept: 15 years from the last visit.
